If you are an existing investor, you are required to complete Customer Knowledge Assessement (CKA) under the new Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) guidelines.
IMPORTANT: Customers who do not complete their CKA after 1 January 2012 will not be able to execute online purchases (including switches) themselves and will need to seek investment advice on whether the specific products are suitable for them before they can proceed with the purchase.

With effect from 1 January 2012, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) require all retail investors who are investing in Specified Investment Product (SIP) which is neither listed nor quoted on a securities market or a futures market to go through a Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA).
Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA) is introduced to assess whether a retail investor possess the relevant knowledge or experience to understand the risks and features of unlisted Specific Investment Products (SIP) which are currently available on www.avivadirect.sg.
Customers who do not complete their CKA after 1 January 2012 will not be able to execute online purchases (including switches) themselves and will need to seek investment advice on whether the specific products are suitable for them before they can proceed with the purchase.
Customers who are assessed to possess the relevant knowledge and experience can opt to continue their investment activity without receiving any advice from Aviva. If retail investors opt to continue their investment activity without receiving advice, they would not be able to rely on Section 27 of the Financial Advisers Act to file a civil claim against Aviva.
Customers who are assessed not to possess the relevant knowledge or experience will be recommended to accept advisory help from Aviva Advisors.
